School of Broadcasting
At Brown, Broadcasting is in our DNA. Richard and Helen Brown started the School of Broadcasting in 1946 to train young men and women for careers in the emerging field of Radio Broadcasting.
Today, technology – including the internet, streaming audio, on-demand video, satellite radio and podcasts – is fueling a communications revolution. Our school of Broadcasting can help students gain the skills necessary to produce audio and video messages to feed our information-hungry world.
The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul comprise one of the nation’s largest media markets. You’ll find Brown alumni on the air and behind the scenes at a number of radio and television station in both towns. In fact, Brown grads from our Television Production Program are helping produce news and entertainment every day, for stations from New York to LA, from small-town radio shows to CNN.
