Brown College Signs Articulation Agreement with Colorado Technical University
Collaboration Creates New Educational Opportunity for Criminal Justice Alumni
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN – October 27, 2008 –In order to provide students with more competitiveness in the job market, Brown College has signed an articulation agreement with its regionally-accredited sister school, Colorado Technical University (CTU). This articulation agreement will offer Brown graduates of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice an opportunity to enter the Master of Science in Management with a Criminal Justice Concentration at Colorado Technical University Online (CTU Online). In addition, an Education Partner Grant and application fee waiver were put in place to help students offset the costs of pursuing a Master's degree.
"Both Brown and CTU are aligned in our commitment to continuously improve student learning and to develop quality professionals who are competitive in their professional fields. The agreement will help ensure a seamless transition between the two programs," states Dr. William Cowan, President of Brown College. "This academic collaboration demonstrates our mutual commitment to students and our mission of continuously providing high quality educational opportunities and services to our students."
Higher levels of education typically translate into higher salaries for graduates, according to a Salary.com study. (http://salary.com/sitesearch/layoutscripts/sisl_display.asp?filename=&path=/destinationsearch/personal/par436_body.html). In 2003, Salary.com's estimate of the difference in salary between bachelor's and master's degree holders was stated to be up to $10,000 annually. In addition, educational requirements in the job market have increased making it a far more competitive environment. It is no secret that more and more working adults are attempting to secure job advancement or job security when pursuing college degrees, and experts suggest that working adults take classes part-time while continuing to work. Brown College and CTU's online degrees are a viable option for those working professionals.
"Colorado Technical University is a perfect fit for Brown College's Criminal Justice Program graduates who elect to continue their studies and pursue an advanced degree. CTU has a wide array of programs available and we welcome students from our sister institution," said Dr. Wallace Pond, Chief Executive Officer of CTU.
University grants or scholarships are based on established criteria as published in the University's catalog and are awarded after verification that the conditions of eligibility have been met.
