International Students
Brown College's Admissions Office helps students from around the world make the transition to Brown College and to the USA as easy as possible. The Admissions Office serves as a center for international, cultural and social activities on campus. Our staff is always available to assist international students and their families with cultural adjustment, academic affairs, housing issues, and employment regulations.
Application Procedures
International students are encouraged to apply for admission. All applicants must meet the same admissions requirements as US citizens. All documents must be accompanied by an English translation. Students whose native language is not English may be required to take the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or demonstrate English proficiency through other measures established by the College. An affidavit of financial support must be submitted. Detailed information will be provided through the Brown College Admissions Office and the Director of Compliance. The College is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students.
International applicants must:
- Complete admissions requirements.
- Submit proof of proficiency in the English language. If the applicant's primary language is not English or the applicant graduated from a non-English speaking high school, test results must be submitted as part of the admissions process. English proficiency will be determined based on results of an officially recognized competency exam. The examinations and required tests results currently accepted at Brown College are: TOEFL - Minimal score of 500 written or 173 on computer or higher, or an Accuplacer LOEP score of 20 or higher.
- Submit back statements or a notarized affidavit of support to demonstrate ability to pay the first three quarters of tuition and fees.
- Provide proof of high school graduation. International transcripts must be translated into English. The applicant must pay any fees associated with the translation.
- Pay $100 fee to the US Department of Homeland Security.
