Outreach Associates Bios

Your class is in good hands. Collectively, our Outreach Associates have addressed thousands of classes. They’re comfortable in front of students and have the ability to connect quickly with them.

Byron Wolt, Senior Outreach Associate

Since January, 1998 Byron has given more than 2,500 presentations for Brown College, speaking in more than 150 rural, urban and suburban schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska. Classroom presentations written by Byron are given in high schools across the country. They?re teacher tested and student approved.

Byron brings a wealth of both education and life experience to his presentations. He lived and taught English in Japan, studied in Wales, and traveled in Europe and Asia. A married father of two, Byron has worked with youth from diverse backgrounds in a wide range of settings for more than 15 years. Byron holds a BA in Developmental Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Since joining Brown College in 2002, she has made hundreds of engaging, energetic presentations to High School classes throughout Minnesota, Iowa and North Dakota.

Lori has long enjoyed working with high school students. Before joining our college in Minneapolis, she spent nine years coaching cheerleading, volleyball and basketball at a Central Minnesota High School. Additionally, Lori brings a rich variety of life experiences to her presentations. She’s worked as a marketing coordinator, customer service manager and account executive. A mother of two, Lori owns and operates a dairy farm with her husband, Frank. Lori holds an AAS at Central Lakes College and is completing her Bachelor’s degree at St. Cloud State University.

Rob honed his presentation skills at the head of Brown College classrooms and on the air as a radio personality. Rob genuinely enjoys working with youth, and has been active in various groups, such as Youth for Christ and other church youth groups for more than 10 years. Since 2005, Rob has engaged high school students with his unique sense of humor and energy. Teachers are quick to note that Rob relates well with students enabling him to keep the students involved while delivering valuable information.

In addition to Rob’s extensive experience in broadcasting and teaching,  he’s worked as a supervisor in manufacturing and served in the U.S. Air Force, seeing duty in Alcombury, England and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Rob has traveled extensively in Europe, exploring Scotland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France,  and Spain. Rob earned a B.S. in Mass Communications from North Dakota State University.

Julie has been working with high school students at Brown College since 1999. She has a bachelor?s of science degree in child psychology from the University of Minnesota and really enjoys interacting with the students during her presentations. Julie appreciates the opportunity to pass along knowledge she has picked up during her years in school, in the military, and as a mother.

She graduated from high school in Minneapolis and since then has lived in the Philippines, on a ship, and currently lives with her husband and kids in a rural town in southwestern Minnesota. She has traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia and Saudi Arabia while serving during Desert Storm. As a photographer in the navy she has witnessed a myriad of occasions during her four year tour.

Julie has a passion for talking with students and for spending time in the great outdoors!
